This is the Logical Data Model

Bloor Research have published a Report on Complex Event Processing
and talks about the impact on Airport Management :-

Here is a direct quote from page 6 of the Report :-
"In an Airport management System, events include late arrivals and departures,
 gate changes, baggage assignments and so on".

The Data Model on the left meets these requirements.

The final Step is where a Smartphone is treated as a 'Thing' and alerted about an emergency situation :-
'BI on the Beach'.
