Data Model for Assets and Locartions
Back to the Data Model.
The Area being Modelled is :-
Assets and Locations

Description: The Client has a number of systems working with Asset and Location data but no
documented rules on the Data relationships between these systems or the lifecycle of Asset data.

Given that business rules are being implemented in these systems, it is imperative that my
customer get these rules documented, validated and adhered to as soon as possible.

This will require detailed data analysis across multiple business areas including but not restricited to:
Asset Management, GIS, Finance, Property and Baggage.

The Data Architect / Information Architect main objective is to deliver signed-off documents and diagrams detailing:

1.Rules for data relationships between the identified systems, including identification of data mastery, aggregation/transformation -
and primary/foreign key relationships.

2.Entity Lifecycle for Asset Location (and any related) data across these systems

Output will be expected to include formal Logical Data Model and narrative.
