Tracking Inspection Equipment

Email dated June 6th. 2013 -
I am looking for a fairly simple inventory database that will track our inspection equipment.

Each item has a serial number and will either be in an operators truck and included in his
inventory or it will be in a shop as part of the spare inventory.

Any ideas?

Barry,

I do not know much about Microsoft Access other than it would be a good inventory database for
us as I could store it on our server and all employees could access it and make necessary inventory transfers.

I would want them to be able to transfer a serial numbered item from their (inspection vehicle) and into
the warehouse for repair and even be able to add a note as to what is wrong with it and what was done to repair it.

Then I would transfer a new piece of equipment to their vehicle and once I repair the unit I would either transfer
it back to them or transfer it to our general inventory.

I would like reports on how many of each item there are and where they are.

I would like a report on what inventory is in each employees inspection vehicle and I would need to keep track of all transfers.

I would also like to print off the Notes of repairs and problems for our inspection equipment.

I do not know how much this would cost to build, but I would be willing to pay for it to be completed.
We do not sell any products we would add items from orders and then transfer the items around from location to location and
inspection truck to inspection truck.

I am currently using a software called Inventoria made by NCH.

It is ok, but it doesnt give me the serial number tracking that I need and Id like something in Access so all employees can
go to the server and open up the program and record their inventory transfers.

Everything else is good.

Thanks,

Rick

One other thing that would be helpful is a data entry form that my employees would complete
electronically and the I would just paste bit in to the inventory database and it would auto-fill
for the first time entering.

Just a thought.

Thanks,
